Pastor Larry Lewis, Sr. is the oldest child of six children born in Columbus, Mississippi. He attended Caldwell High School. After High School, he served in the United States Air Force. Later, he furthered his education at Foster College in Ripley, Mississippi, where he received his barber license. Afterward, he obtained his cosmetology license from Holmes Community College.
Pastor Lewis, while in the Air Force in Anchorage, Alaska, accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He was saved, sanctified, and filled with the Holy Ghost and faith. Elder Lewis dedicates his life to service for his Lord and allow God to be the pilot for his life. He has crossed many boundaries in his achievements while spreading the Word of God. Elder Lewis has served as pastor of three churches in Northern Mississippi Jurisdiction: Lighthouse Church of God In Christ of Blaine, MS; House of Prayer Church of God In Christ of Greenville, MS and Greater St. Matthew Church of God In Christ of Lexington, MS.
Elder Lewis serves as CO-Chairman of the National Coalition of Jurisdictional Presidents and Co-Chairman of the Regional President in the International Youth Department. He serves as Southern Regional President over the state of Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Mississippi. He has taught workshops during the International AIM Convention and Regional Rallies for Jurisdictional and local youth leaders. Elder Lewis serves as Northern MS Jurisdictional Youth President and Food Service Coordinator. He formerly served as a Southern Region Youth Department Assistant Director, Northern MS Jurisdictional Adjutant, YPWW President of District four and Sunday School Superintendent of District ten.
Elder Lewis is married to Missionary Eva Gaston and the parents of two children – Lartasa and Larry II and grandfather of Lartaevion Lewis.
